- Musicians' Benevolent Fund
-
The Musicians' Benevolent Fund (MBF) is a United Kingdom charity offering help and support to working and retired musicians, other professionals in the music industry, and their dependants.
It was begun as a fund created in 1921 following the death of English tenor Gervase Elwes: it operates throughout the UK and the Republic of Ireland and spends around £2 million each year helping about 1,500 people. More recently, it has developed its work for outstanding young musicians in the UK through financial awards for individuals and organisations.
