Parmenio Adams

Parmenio Adams (b. September 9 1776, Hartford, Connecticut - d. February 19 1832, Alexander, New York) was a military officer and United States Congressman from New York.

He moved to Phelps Corners, New York (now known as Attica, New York) in 1806. He served with the New York Militia through 1816, including service as a major and a commandant during the War of 1812. He served as sheriff as Genesee County, New York, from 1815-1816 and again 1818-1821. He went on to engage in agricultural pursuits, as well as working as a construction contractor on the Erie Canal.

He was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1824 through 1827.

He died in Alexander, New York in 1832, aged 55.
