Palmerston Follies

Palmerston Follies

Palmerston Follies were series of forts in England and Wales created at the direction of Henry Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston in the 19th century along Britain's sea coast to deter invasion by sea. The forts were never used, except as deterrents for invasion.

See Palmerston Forts for a list of the forts around the British coast.
