- Rudy Frederiksen
Rudy Frederiksen (1961 - ) was until the 7th of August 2006 employed by the
Danish government as a safe-chat consultant. One of his tasks was to ensure a safe chat environment on theInternet for teenagers. On the 5th of September 2006, in the journalistic documentary "Operation X" broadcast by Danish TV channel TV 2, Rudy Frederiksen admitted on
hidden camera how he had abused the Internet as a way to establish contact with children under the age of 18 and how he, pretending to be a professional photographer, had sex with several of these girls while he recorded it with a camera. Additionally, he was filmed with a hidden camera while extorting the owners of the controversial Danish chat site [http://arto.dk Arto] (a site similar to those ofmyspace andfacebook ) to pay him 30,000Danish kroner monthly (roughly $5100), to end his public criticism of the site.On the 7th of September 2006, Rudy Frederiksen turned himself in and was instantly
remand ed inpolice custody for a week, charged for violation of paragraphs 230 and 235 of the Danish Penal Code, respectively the recording and distribution of immoral pictures (child pornography ) and abuse of office (extortion ).Following the arrest of Rudy Frederiksen, nearly 100,000 people signed an
Internet petition that suggested that Rudy Frederiksen should be punished with the maximum penalty for his misdeeds, which according toDanish law is six years ofimprisonment .However, since none of the girls he violated wanted to witness in court, Rudy Frederiksen was released from custody and served no years in prison, despite this, in the Danish folks' consciousness he is seen as a detestable person, (currently) making it impossible for him to roam around freely in public. "Operation X" closing credits revealed that Rudy then changed his name to Jens Jørgen Frederiksen and moved out of the country (Finland).
