Skysong

Skysong

Skysong, also known as Kitten or Kit, is a baby dragon, one of the main characters in the Immortals Quartet by Tamora Pierce.

Fictional character biography

She was adopted by Veralidaine Sarrasri at the end of "Wild Magic" after her mother died in the battle at Pirate's Swoop. Her mother was pulled out of the Divine Realms with a group of Stormwings after she had gone into labour, and the travel between realms killed her baby, which Daine later healed by accident. Her mother repaid Daine by helping her defeat the Carthaki pirates who were attacking Pirate's Swoop, but was killed in the process, leaving Skysong to Daine to look after.

Skysong has draconic magic which she makes using telepathy, whistling, clicking, and screaming. She also changes colors according to her moods. She is too young to communicate via mind-speak like older dragons, so she communicates using whistling, clicking, gestures and other non-verbal methods of communication. Skysong often uses her talents and magic to help Daine and her friends in their various adventures.

Skysong makes a small appearance in "Page" as she answers the door for Daine.
