Pappy's Fun Club

Pappy's Fun Club is an English sketch-comedy team consisting of comedians Ben Clark, Matthew Crosby, Brendan Dodds and Tom Parry. Established in 2004, the sketch team perform regularly on the London comedy circuit and at comedy clubs nationwide.

History

Pappy's Fun Club was established in July 2004 as a comedy collective, performing sketches, stand-up, character acts and music at regular shows in The Old Coffee House, in the Soho area of London. In 2005 the team began performing sketches at comedy nights on the London comedy circuit and Pappy's Fun Club the four-man sketch troupe, as it is now, took shape.

Pappy's Fun Club made their self-titled début appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006, as part of the Free Fringe.

In February 2007, Pappy's Fun Club was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Chortle Awards, by the website Chortle.co.uk.

In August 2007 the team returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with their second show, again self-titled. On 15 November 2007 the team appeared on the BBC Three comedy programme [http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedyshuffle/ Comedy Shuffle] . Also on this date, a special edition of the comedy podcast Answer Me This! was released featuring Pappy's Fun Club as special guests, taking turns to answer questions submitted by listeners alongside regular hosts Helen Zaltzman and Oliver Mann. Pappy's Fun Club are regular contributors to BBC Switch with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, performing sketches and appearing live.

In March 2008 the team recorded a self-titled pilot for BBC Radio 4, broadcast 12th May 2008.
