Hole-in-the-Wall is a remote hideout located in the
Big Horn Mountains of Johnson County in northernWyoming . The site was used in the late 1800s by theHole in the Wall Gang , a group of cattle rustlers and other outlaws which included among its membersKid Curry , Black Jack Ketchum andButch Cassidy's Wild Bunch gang. Cassidy, theSundance Kid , and otherdesperado s met at alog cabin in the Hole-in-the-Wall country which has been preserved at theOld Trail Town museum inCody, Wyoming . The cabin was constructed in 1883 by Alexander Ghent. From the late 1860s to around 1910, the Pass was used frequently by numerous outlaw gangs. Eventually it faded into history, with gangs using it less frequently. Wyoming winters, and it had alivery stable , acorral , livestock and supplies, with each gang contributing their fair share.References
