Harvey Daniel “Ginger” Clark (
March 7 ,1879 –May 10 ,1943 ) was aMajor League Baseball pitcher for a very brief time during the by|1902 season. The right-hander was born inWooster, Ohio .This “one-game wonder” played for the
Cleveland Bronchos on August 11, 1902. He earned a win by pitching the last sixinnings of a 17-11 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Though he gave up fourearned runs , Clark shined by going 2-for-4 at the plate (.500), scoring two runs, and fielding three chances without an error (1.000). This all took place in front of the home crowd atLeague Park .Famous teammates of his on the
American League club includedHall of Famers Addie Joss andNap Lajoie .Clark died at the age of 64 in
Lake Charles, Louisiana . He is buried in Wooster, Ohio.He was the son of Charles Howard Clark and Margery (Fasig)Clark. He was married to Bertha Kasie (Lawrence) and had 3 sons, Richard, Robert, and Charles, all deceased.
