Rotson Kilambe

Rotson Kilambe

Rotson Kilambe (born August 6, 1978 in Kitwe) is a Zambian footballer, previously playing for Kaizer Chiefs in South Africa.

The striker was signed from fellow South Africans Bloemfontein Celtic and had also played for Mamelodi Sundowns and Power Dynamos in his native Zambia.

He made his debut for the Zambia national football team in 1998 and has since played a major part in his country's successes. He played at the 1998 and 2000 African Nation Cup Finals.

In September 2001, he was suspendend for 6 months from international football since he tested positive for cannabis use, following a World Cup qualifier against Cameroon. Kilambe was the first African player to be banned by FIFA on doping related charges. The ban denied him the chance of playing at the African Nations Cup Finals in Mali.
