Overview

Red Cliffs Secondary College is located 15 km south of Mildura. It is set in spacious grounds adjacent to extensive Mildura Council recreation facilities and linked by the Community Activity Centre.

Red Cliffs Secondary College caters for all students from Years 7 to 12 from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. Whilst many families represent the agricultural and horticultural development of the surrounding areas, others reflect the range of professions found in the district.

The College provides comprehensive and sequential courses from Years 7-12 in the eight curriculum areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Humanities, the Arts, Health and Physical Education, and Languages other than English (Indonesian). At VCE level, students are able to select courses which guarantee pathways to further studies at University and TAFE, training and employment.

The College has a very successful program involving the Arts, particularly Music, Drama, Dance and Media Studies. All students have frequent opportunities to perform publicly at such events as Speech Night, drama and musical productions, Rock Eisteddfod and community functions.

A year level camps and excursions program based on planned educational experiences provides enrichment opportunities as well as promoting social development of students. The College has a strong sports program that has achieved considerable success in supporting students through district, regional, State and national levels in a wide variety of sports.

The College is dedicated to developing and caring for the whole student, which is why we have a comprehensive curriculum, a broad co-curricular activities program, a clear student management policy and a dedicated wellbeing team. All areas work together to provide the best outcomes for all students

There are approximately 550 students who are drawn from the Red Cliffs Township and from the surrounding dried fruit, citrus, wine grape, vegetable and dry land farming areas of Sunraysia, and reflect its ethnic diversity. The College is the only Year 7-12 Government Secondary College in the Mildura district.

Facilities

Since 2002 the College has been affiliated with the SoundHouse Music Alliance, which provides access to quality music and media equipment and training.

A Careers Room is available for all students with brochures and DVD’s on TAFE’s, universities and career opportunities. VCE students have their own private study area and Year 12 students have their own common room.
