Established in2001 , by Peter Gregory, the Editor of Advanced Materials, when the Wiley journal Advanced Materials for Optics and Electronics was discontinued, "Advanced Functional Materials" is the sister journal to "Advanced Materials" and publishes full papers, feature articles, and highlights on the development and applications of functional materials, including topics inchemistry ,physics ,nanotechnology ,ceramic s,metallurgy , andbiomaterials . Frequent topics covered by the journal also includeliquid crystals ,semiconductors ,superconductors ,optics ,lasers ,sensors , porous materials, light-emitting materials, magnetic materials,thin films , andcolloids . Peter Gregory edited the journal from 2001-2002, then Esther Levy from 2002 -2006, and now the Editor is Dr. David Flanagan.The
