Nara Spoken in Eritrea Native speakers 80,000 (date missing) Language family Language codes ISO 639-3 nrb The Nara (Nera) or Barea (Barya) language is a Nilo-Saharan language spoken chiefly in western Eritrea.[1] The language is often confused with Kunama, which is at best only distantly related. According to Tsige Hailemichael, the "...Nara language is in danger of quickly disappearing."[2] The name Barea is considered derogatory.
