August 31 2006 , he was transferred on a one-season loan to Porto. He quickly earned a spot on the right side of defense. At the end of the 2006-07 season, Porto made the move permanent, by signing him to a 5 year contract.Fucile's style of play is similar to that of
Javier Zanetti and Roberto Carlos. He is a good passer, a good dribbler, good free kick taker, as well as a very fast runner on the pitch.He played for Uruguay in 2007 Copa América.
