"The Journal of African American History", formerly "The Journal of Negro History", is an academic journal of African American life and history, founded on January 1, 1916 by Dr.Carter Woodson, the world renowned historian, author, journalist and the founder of Negro History Week, which became Black History Month. The journal is currently published four times a year by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.
