USS Lackawanna (AO-40)

USS "Lackawanna" (AO-40) was originally named the SS Conastoga, a type T2 tanker. The ship was built as hull number 4359 and USMC number 147 in 1942. The U.S. Navy took control of it the same year. It was apparently released from the navy in 1946 and returned to its original name. It was also known as the Tatarrax (1947), the Thomas A. (1962) and the Padre Island (1965).
