Bishop John Huston Ricard (
February 29 ,1940 inBaton Rouge ,Louisiana ) is aRoman Catholic bishop , He is also a member of the religious order theJosephite Fathers .Upon completion of high school, Bishop Ricard entered a seminary in
Newburgh ,New York . He completed his theological training and was ordained to the priesthood onMay 25 ,1968 .Just after his ordination Bishop Ricard obtained a
Masters Degree fromTulane University in 1970 and a Doctoral Degree fromThe Catholic University of America inWashington, DC in 1983.March 1997 Bishop John H. Ricard, SSJ was installed as Bishop of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola. Bishop Ricard had come from the
Archdiocese of Baltimore where he had beenAuxiliary Bishop since 1984. During his years there Bishop Ricard was responsible for parishes in the city of Baltimore.He has served as pastor in
Washington, D.C. and as Chairman of the Domestic Policy Committee of theUnited States Conference of Catholic Bishops following his appointment as an Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore.He is currently on the Administrative Board of the
