State Route 89 is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia, continuing North Carolina Highway 89 north to U.S. Route 58/U.S. Route 221 in Galax.

SR 89 crosses the North Carolina state line and passes through Low Gap and crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway. Soon the land flattens out, and SR 89 runs cross-country past McCarmant Hill. From its junction with State Route 97 to its end at U.S. Route 58/U.S. Route 221 in Galax, SR 89 runs alongside Chestnut Creek.

The whole route was added to the state highway system in 1928 as State Route 117.
