He usually plays in the defender position.
Club career
Hasheminasab started at Mobarezan F.C. as a youngster and it was obvious that he had skill and potential so he was quickly snapped up by Pas F.C. who appreciated the fact he was an asset for the club. As time went on Hasheminasab came and went to many sides including Bargh Shiraz F.C., Entezam F.C. and Pars Khodro F.C.. Hasheminasab established himself though in Persepolis F.C.. His talent in heading and steady defending earned him a spot in the national team and respect of most football critics. After a number of successful seasons with Persepolis, he made a move to Turkmenistan First Division outfit Kopetdag Asgabat. It wasn't long until Iranian giants Persepolis F.C. wanted Hasheminasab back in Iran. His stay there was short, as Hasheminasab joined a small club of players who have played for both of the major Tehrani teams when he signed for Esteghlal F.C. for 15M Toman. In 2004, a 31 year old Hasheminasab's form dramatically dropped, which led to his Esteghlal declining to renew his contract. Because of this he signed for the much smaller Saipa F.C.. He lasted there for one season and then in transferred to Azadegan League sdie, Oghab F.C. in 2005, where he played with other veterans such as Khodadad Azizi. On August 26, 2006, the last day of the IPL Transfer Season F.C. Aboomoslem signed Hasheminasab on a 2-year contract.
International career
After a number of very good seasons with Persepolis, Hasheminasab was called up to the national team, earning his first cap versus Kuwait on February 15, 1999. He was also a member of the national team during the World Cup 2002 qualification campaign. Some consider him and a number of other players to be responsible for the poor atmosphere in the national team camp, and its eventual failure to qualify. In his career he achieved 28 caps and 2 goals.
