Massonia is a genus of bulbous perennials in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Scilloideae native to southern Africa.[1] It is named after the Scottish botanist and gardener Francis Masson.[2]. There are 6 species in this genus: Massonia angustifolia, Massonia depressa, Massonia echinata, Massonia jasminiflora, Massonia pygmaea. It is classed as a cryptophyte.
