Walnut Ridge High School is a public high school located on the far east side of Columbus, Ohio. It is a part of Columbus City Schools.
The school colors are Red, Gray, and White and the school nickname/mascot is the "Highlander" but is also known as the Scots. The school is located at 4841 E Livingston Ave on the east side of Columbus, close to the I-70 and Hamilton Road exit. Its neighbored by the Far East Recreation Center and Big Walnut Creek, and its 'rival' is Independence High School, as well as Eastmoor High School. The school offers several college level (AP or Advanced Placement) courses to students, and is known for having winning football, softball, and basketball teams.
At its peak in the late 1960's, the school had an enrollment of over 1800 in grades 10-12. During that time split-sessions were used.
Interesting facts
Walnut Ridge High School won the 1987 National Academic Championship.the late 70s is when the school reached it's peak population not 60s.

The football team is supposed to have an excellent season this year.
