- Khaplu
Khaplu is the capital town of the
Ghangche District of northernPakistan . Lying 103 km (64 miles) east ofSkardu town, it was the second-largest kingdom in old Baltistan. It guarded the trade route toLadakh along theShyok River .Khaplu is located at coord|35|10|N|76|20|E|region:PK_type:city. Its altitude is convert|2560|m|ft.
Surmo
Surmo is one of the important region of Ghanche. It is of significant strategic importance.
Surmo is the junction of Churbut, Khaplu and Mashabrrum valleys of Ghanche. The population of Surmo valley is 600 houses and spread across a wide area of the district. the largest and tallest bridge of the Northern areas situated in this region and connected to Siachen and Churbut regions.
In spite of these fact and figures this valley is very old population of Baltistan. In Surmo one can find trees over 150 years old and cultural symbols of earlier history.
