Isah Abdulahi Eliakwu (born 25 October 1985 in Lokoja), is a Nigerian footballer. He is currently playing for Triestina.

Football career

Eliakwu's career began in the youth setup of Reggiana. Following a successful period, he came to the attention of Inter Milan in 2002, and signed alongside current Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins from the Reggiana to join the Inter Milan Reserve Team. In the 19 games that Eliakwu appeared for the Reserve Team during the 2003-04 season, he averaged a goal a game, 10 goals coming in the Italian Youth Cup, and 9 in the Youth League. His first-team debut followed soon after in the Coppa Italia against Udinese on January 13 2004. Later that month he was loaned to Serie A side Parma in a deal involving Brazilian striker Adriano going in the other direction. However, the Parma coaches decided to allow Eliakwu to remain with Inter until June 2004.

During the 2004-05 season, Eliakwu was loaned to Serie B side Ascoli. He played 25 times for the fist team, but failed to score a goal.

In late August 2005 Eliakwu was loaned to Serie B side Triestina. The first part of the season saw little of Isah due to recurring injuries. This changed for the second half of the season. The sale of Triestina's leading scorer Denis Godeas to Palermo was followed injuries to the remaining strikers at the club giving Eliakwu the opportunity to play regularly for the first team until the end of the season. In the final 16 games Isah scored 8 goals in 16 games endearing himself to the fans and receiving the fan's player of the season award.

The summer of 2006 saw Stefano Fantinel confirmed as the new chairman of Triestina, and Eliakwu was acquired in a co-ownership deal from Inter, meaning that half of the player's rights now belonged to each club.

In late July 2007, Serie B side Spezia signed Eliakwu on loan for the forthcoming 2007-08 season. He has both Italian and Nigerian nationalities, which make him eligible for both nations, yet.
