- Wreck of Rochelongue
The
shipwreck of Rochelongue, located west ofCap d'Agde in southwesternFrance , dates to theIron Age , ca.600 BC . Its cargo included 800 kg ofcopper ingots and about 1,700 bronze artefacts. The ingots have been analysed by theSAM-Project . They contain very pure copper with traces oflead ,antimony ,nickel andsilver .Further reading
