Its anchor stores are JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom and Sears. A two-part Robinsons-May closed in 2006. The Macy's is expected to eventually move into one of the former Robinsons-May locations after enlarging it, as part of an overall redevelopment of the center.[citation needed]
The other former Robinsons-May location will be subdivided into smaller retail stores, including an H&M and a supermarket. [2]
Westfield America, Inc., a precursor to The Westfield Group acquired its initial interest in the North County Fair in 1994, and acquired the rest in 1998, renaming it "Westfield Shoppingtown North County", dropping the "Shoppingtown" name in June 2005. Locals nearly always refer to it by its original name, however.
