Commonwealth Black Pudding Throwing Championships

Commonwealth Black Pudding Throwing Championships

The first World Black Pudding Throwing Championships were held in Ramsbottom, Lancashire, originally held in Stubbins, Lancashire. on August 11, 2002 as part of the activities surrounding the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Participants took part from England, Scotland, Wales, South Africa and other countries.

2012

It is rumored that the 2012 London Olympics will host a return of the sport, largely influenced by Boris Johnson's statement to the Olympic committee. The event will not be rewarded with official medals or count towards the final tables - it will, however, involve Black Pudding throwers from across the world.
