Gais (Italian: "Gais"; German: "Gais") is a "comune" (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 110 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 60 km northeast of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,985 and an area of 60.3 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.]

The municipality of Gais contains the "frazioni" (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Lana di Gais, Riomolino, Montassilone, and Villa Ottone.

Gais borders the following municipalities: Bruneck (Brunico), Sand in Taufers (Campo Tures), Pfalzen (Falzes), Percha (Perca), and Mühlwald (Selva dei Molini).
