Kastelruth (Italian: "Castelrotto"; Archaic (982AD): "Castellorupto"; Latin: "Castellum Ruptum") is a "comune" (municipality) in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 70 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 20 km northeast of the city of Bolzano. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,166 and an area of 117.8 km².All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.]

The municipality of Kastelruth contains the "frazioni" (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Alpe di Siusi, Bulla (Bula), Roncadizza (Roncadic), San Michele Siusi, Snat'Osvaldo, San Valentino, San Vigilio, Tagusa, Tisana, and Oltretorrente (Sureghes). Siusi allo Sciliar is a "località" of the "comune".
