Ridgewood High School, or RHS, is a public four-year high school located in Norridge, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Ridgewood Community High School District 234.
The school serves portions of Norridge and Harwood Heights.
History
Ridgewood High School received national attention in the 1960s following its opening, by "TIME Magazine" and the "Ladies Home Journal" selected it as one of "America’s Top Ten High Schools" in May 1968.Ridgewoods main rival is Elmwood Park.
Academics
In 2005, Ridgewood had an average composite ACT score of 19.9, and graduated 77.8% of its senior class. The average class size is 21.2. Ridgewood has made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievement Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.
