The Hanks

The Hanks were formed by Jeff Hart of Jeff Hart and the Ruins in 1987 and helped usher in the alternative country scene in North Carolina several years before Whiskeytown and Ryan Adams put the sound on the national map. They disbanded in 1989. Then reunited for two shows in 2000 and permanently in 2004 to coincide with the release of the archives of their 1988 recordings. The 2007 lineup (same as 1988) are Jeff Hart on guitar and vocals, Herbie Saint on drums and vocals, Ron Bartholomew on lead guitar and vocals and Steve Webster on bass.
