Melbourne , Victoria,Australia . Its Local Government Area is theCity of Bayside . At the2006 census, Highett had a population of 9402.The name comes from Highett Road and the name of the local railway station which was built when the line from Caulfield to Mordialloc was opened in
1881 . Highett Road is believed to have been named either after John Highett, a grazier and/or drover (1836) or William Highett, parliamentarian and local land owner (1850s). Highett's most substantial residential growth began in the 1950s. Industry was attracted to the area, including a large CSIRO research facility. A primary school was opened in1953 and a high school in1956 . The strip shopping centre near the railway line expanded, and still remains active.Highett is bordered by Hampton/Sandringham to the west, Hampton East/Moorabbin to the north and Cheltenham to the east and south.

It's senior team participated in the SFL Division 1, whereas the 7 junior sides participate in the MSJFL.
