guitar ist, most famous for his work withSeattle band Mudhoney.Turner's first band was called The Ducky Boys. The line up included future
Pearl Jam memberStone Gossard . The Ducky Boys split around 1983.Turner later foundMark Arm in Mr. Epp and the Calculations, which Arm described as "The worst band in the world". Mr. Epp played their final show with Turner in 1984.Turner was also present in Green River which again featured Arm and Gossard, and also acquired the services ofJeff Ament (laterPearl Jam ) onbass guitar . Turner left the band in 1984, citing differences with the "careerist" Ament.Arm and Turner brought Mudhoney into existence onNew Year's Day , 1988.The Melvins bassistMatt Lukin was brought in, as wasDan Peters on drums.With Mudhoney, Turner recorded all their albums fromSuperfuzz Bigmuff in 1988 to The Lucky Ones in 2008.Turner also appears in sideprojects such as The Thrown Ups, Monkeywrench, The Fall Outs and has his own side project of solo recordings in a folk-vein.The first of three of these featured the production talents and drum playing of Mr. Stone Gossard. His second Steve Turner and his Bad Ideas is a diverse affair released around the same time as an E.P. Beautiful Winter, followed up by the excellent New Wave Punk Asshole.
