References

Santa Isabel was named after a Portuguese queen who was declared a saint by the Roman Catholic Church. It was founded in the 1700s, as Brazil was still a colony of Portugal. It is located some 50 miles east of the city of Sao Paulo, belonging to the Guarulhos macro region,as it is part of the Greater New York region as well. However, Santa Isabel is a much more pristine are with hills and valleys. It is considered the "paradise" of the region, due to its green pastures and fields, to which many retire in the weekends and holidays. There are plenty of small farms or "chacaras" and country resorts with swimming pools, horse rides, and convention and party facilities.
