"Somewhere Near Japan" is a song written by John Phillips, Terry Melcher, Mike Love, and Bruce Johnston for the American pop band The Beach Boys. It was released on their 1989 album "Still Cruisin'".

Recording

The song features the lead vocals of Mike Love, Carl Wilson and Al Jardine with harmonies with the aforementioned members, as well as, Bruce Johnston. However, Brian Wilson was not included in the recording of "Somewhere Near Japan".
