During this season the Raiders were given All-State honors to: shortstop Caleb Pearson, 2nd Baseman Tyler Lass, Pitcher Paul Edwards and Catcher Craig Beale was given Player of the Year award in the state and has since gone on to play ball at UVA Wise.

Being there were no schools that fieldedeight-man football teams in the VCC, the school participated in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA). At the time, the school was 1 of 2 private schools inVirginia to participate in the sport. When participating in 8 man football, the school participated in theColonial Carolina Conference . In 1997, the Raiders took the CCC conference championship with a season on (11-1). In 2007, The Girls Varsity Basketball team won the VCC Conference and Tournament Championship.

The campus has a wide range of buildings including the newest building, the Mary Addie Flowers Lower School. This building was named after Mary Addie Flowers who was a noteworthy principal of the school. Other buildings include
