January 8 ,1912 –September 1 ,1995 ) was a New York mobster who allegedly becameconsigliere of theGambino crime family during the reigns ofCarlo Gambino ,Paul Castellano and for a short time,John Gotti . Joseph N. Gallo should not be confused with "Crazy Joey" Gallo from theColombo crime family . He is the father of Gambino crime family associateJoseph C. Gallo . After Gotti took control of the Family, he removed Gallo as Consigliere and replaced him with Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, who later became the Underboss of the Family and a government informant.
