Tagata (田方郡; -gun) is a district located in Shizuoka, Japan. As of 2004, the district has an estimated population of 38,839. The total area is 65.13km².

*September 30, 1956:
**The village of Shimokarino was merged into the town of Shuzenji.
**The village of Seizu was merged into the town of Toi.
*April 1, 1957: The town of Tsunashiro was merged into the city of Atami.
*January 1, 1958: The villages of Shimoomi, Nakaomi, and Kamiomi merged to form the town of Nishiizu.
*April 10, 1959: Parts of the village of Kitakarino broke off and merged separately to the towns of Shuzenji and Ohito.
*November 1, 1960: The villages of Nakakarino and Kamikarino merged to form the town of Amagiyugashima.
*April 1, 1962: The village of Nirayama gained town status.
*April 1, 1963: The village of Kannami gained town status.
*April 1, 2004: The towns of Shuzenji, Amagiyugashima, Nakaizu, and Toi merged to form the city of Izu.
*April 1, 2005:
**The towns of Nirayama, Izunagaoka, and Ohito merged to form the city of Izunokuni.
**The village of Heda was merged into the city of Numazu.
