Ruby Young Elementary School is a public school in DeSoto, Texas (USA). It is part of the DeSoto Independent School District.

Located at 707 Young Boulevard, the school serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through five that reside in the northwestern portion of DeSoto ISD.

Named after Ruby Young, a former DeSoto schoolteacher, the school opened on January 4, 1965.

As of the 2005-2006 school year, Ruby Young had a total of 523 students (66.9% African American, 19.3% White, 11.9% Hispanic, 0.5% Asian, and 0.4% Native American).

2005-06 Accountability rating

Based on the accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency on August 1, 2006, Ruby Young Elementary is currently rated "Recognized".
