Fatman Scoop born Isaac Freeman III is an African-American New York City hip hop promoter and radio personality famed for his on-stage rough, loud voice. He is best known for the track "Be Faithful" with The Crooklyn Clan which went to number one in the UK and Ireland in late 2003 and top 5 in Australia. The song has been a favorite in clubs around the world for years but it took two years to clear the samples from Jay-Z, Black Sheep, Queen Pen, The Beatnuts and Faith Evans. The track takes its name from the sample of Evans singing "Love like this". The follow up "It Takes Scoop" reached number 9 in the UK, the top 20 in Ireland and the top 40 in Australia in 2004. In 2005, Fatman Scoop was featured on two hit songs, Mariah Carey's "It's Like That" and Missy Elliott's "Lose Control". Scoop also hosts his own show on popular New York City radio station WQHT-FM (Hot 97).

TV appearances

In 2005, a Channel 4 program, "Chancers" featured Fatman Scoop acting as a mentor to young urban artists from the United Kingdom.

In January 2007, Fatman Scoop was featured in Scooter's hit single and music video Behind the Cow, where he rapped a short solo.

Personal Life

In July 2006, a club promoter in New Bern, North Carolina sued the Sheriff of Craven County, North Carolina after a 2003 Fatman Scoop concert held there was shut down by the sheriff due to a noise complaint from a local citizen. The suit is asking for more than $10,000 (US$) in lost wages and punitive damages. His son currently goes to Valley Forge Military Academy.
