The Berenstain Bears and the Green Eyed Monster

The Berenstain Bears and The Green Eyed Monster is an episode in the Berenstain Bears.

Plot synopsis

When Brother gets a new bike, it makes Sister jealous because she still has her old bike. Brother and Sister fight over it. Mama tells Sister that when you want something somebody else has the Green-Eyed Monster pops up and tells you to give it a try. Soon Mr. Bruin comes and his car is rusty and broken down. Papa gives Mr. Bruin some advice to get a new car and Mr. Bruin deals it as he drops Lizzy Bruin to the Bear family. Papa tells Mr. Bruin that his car is running away down the hill. Mr. Bruin panics and chases after it as he says goodbye. Meanwhile, Sister tells Lizzy the whole story. Lizzy says that in six months time she will be old enough to ride the bike and Brother will get another new one.

That night Sister dreams that the Green-Eyed Monster comes and says to her to try the bike. She and the Monster go outside and Sister climbs up the top to the ladder and jumps on the seat. When she awakes from the dream she is eager in the morning to ride Brother's bike before breakfast. Mama tells Brother to go and call Sister for breakfast. Since no one knows where Sister is they panic and worry. Soon they see and notice Sister on Brother's bike in the garden, crying yells of HELP! Brother bravely goes on Sister's bike and catches Sister. Brother gives directions to Sister so she can stop. Everyone is glad Sister is safe and not hurt.

Mr. Bruin comes again and gets Papa's advice of getting a new car. Papa gets upset and jealous because he doesn't have one. Mama, Brother and Sister tell Papa to look out for you-know-who. (The Green-Eyed Monster) So instead he decides to wash it up so it will be shiny and clean and as good as new. Soon all goes well for the Bear family.
