website = http://www.comune.andalo.tn.it/Andalo is a comune in the autonomous
province of Trento inItaly : according to the 2001 census, the village has 1,014 inhabitants. The town lies on the
Brenta-Paganella plateau , between the mountains calledPiz Galin (ft 8,011 - mt 2442) andPaganella (ft 6,971 – mt 2125) and its territory is part of theAdamello-Brenta natural park .The village was founded in the Middle Ages and used to be divided into 13 “masi” (Bortolon, Cadin, Casanova, Clamer, Dos, Fovo, Ghezzi, Melchiori, Monech, Pegorar, Perli, Pont and Toscana), but when the town got bigger they united and this division practically doesn’t exist anymore.
During the second part of the 20th century the village became one of the most famous touristic resorts in its province, mainly due to its skiing facilities.
The village's economy used to be based on agriculture but, according to the 2001 census, there are only 5 individuals working in this field right now. Tourism, both during summer and winter is the main economic factor in Andalo (as it is in the surrounding towns), mainly due to its position next to the
Dolomites .External links
