Grey energy can mean
* Energy produced from fossil fuels. This usage appears in conjunction with the [http://www.ieawind.org/iea_wind_pdf/PDF_2000_IEA_Annual_Report/NetherB.pdf Regulating Energy Tax] in the Netherlands.
* Embodied energy, the total energy used to make something.
