Margecany (Hungarian: Margitfalva) is a village and municipality in the Gelnica District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. Margecany is a very important railway junction situated on the main railway (Košice–Bohumín_Railway) connecting Košice with Žilina and Bratislava.

The river of Hornád and Hnilec create a water dam called Ružín.
