- Il Vernacoliere
"Il Vernacoliere" is an old Italian satirical monthly magazine rooted in
Livorno ,Tuscany . While it began in the late 1960's as a purelyvernacular magazine (called "Livornocronaca" until 1982), it slowly but steadily became famous beyond the borders of the Livorno province, and it is now read in most northern and central Italy.Il Vernacoliere is well known for its popular, raw and heavily disrespectful political and social satire, often written in the Livorno
dialect or at least with a distinct Tuscanian taste. Inside the magazine there are both satirical articles and comics. Il Vernacoliere is remarkable among Italian magazines in having no advertising, covering all its expenses with the sale of the journal and the gadgets. The founder and current director of Vernacoliere is
Mario Cardinali . He is the author of most political satire pieces, written in pure and witty Livorno dialect. Notable Vernacoliere contributors includeFederico Maria Sardelli ,Daniele Caluri ,Max Greggio ,Marco Citi ,Ettore Borzacchini ,Andrea Camerini .ee also
