The Canadian International School (Singapore) is an independent privately-owned co-educational day school in Singapore that provides classes from Early Child Education to Grade 12. It is accredited by the Ontario Ministry of Education, Canada. Its graduates receive either the Ontario Secondary Diploma or the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The current Head Principal is Mr. Glenn Odland.

History

The Canadian International School (Singapore) is established in 1989 as a university preparatory day school, the school was called Canadian Overseas College then, but subsequently changed its name to the Canadian International School (Singapore). The school enrolls approximately 1500 elementary, middle school and high school students and approximately 136 staff members.

Campus

The school currently consists of four campuses.
*Elementary Campus (ECE to Grade 3) at Toh Tuck Road
*Middle School Campus (Grade 4 to 8) at Bukit Tinggi Road
*High School Campus (Grade 9 to 12) at Kampong Bahru Road

The Canadian International School Tanjong Katong Campus is opened in September 2007, has a maximum capacity of 1000 students. It is housed in the newly renovated premises of the old Tanjong Katong Girls' School. The school is also building a new campus in Jurong West, which is expected to be ready by 2009. Others

Prior to becoming the elementary campus for CIS Singapore, the Toh Tuck road campus was once the campus of Toh Tuch Primary School (篤德小學). Due to lack of student admission, Toh Tuch Primary School folded after the 1987 academic year. Most students at the time were transferred to the nearby Bukit Batok Primary School.

The Kampong Bahru campus, holding the senior students from grades 9-12, plans to increase the number of co-curriculum school events during schoolyear 2008-2009 in a bid to raise school spirit. One such event in planning is the widely-publicized Culturefest slated for November 27, 2008.
