Yellur is village in Belgaum district of Karnataka state in India. Situated at the foot of a small hillock locally called Yellurgad (Rajhans Gad), the place is a pittoresque village with multiple temples dedicated to Kamaleshwar, Lakshmi, Dattatreya, Parameshwara, Hanuman and Changaleshwari. The jatra in honour of the goddess is held during Chaitra when about 10,000 people participate. It lies at 6 km to the south of the city of Belgaum. Yellur has its own Gram_panchayat.

Yellur is one of the disputed (Belgaum_border_dispute) villages in Karnataka due to its almost 95% Marathi speaking population. Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) is the single largest party representing marathi people in Yellur, which carries the agenda of moving Yellur into Maharashtra, a marathi speaking state.

The village is surrounded by beautiful farms and fields with rice as a major crop. Majority of people are farmers and construction labor. Yellur has 3 government schools and about 5 high schools. Most of the students goto the city of Belgaum for higher education.

Yellur is one of the densly populated and developing villages in Karnataka. It hosts several co-operative finance institutions that cater to people and have turn over of over crores of rupees. Yellur has been known for its best Kho kho players in the state. Many players have represented Karnataka at national level.

Yellurgarh (Yellur Fort) located within the vicinity is worth a visit, no accessible roads its a 20 min walk up the hill with a breathtaking view.
