The song was produced and released in Austria in 2000. The music experts expected no real big success and in Austria the song peaked #4 in the Top 40 charts. In Germany #11 and the song didn't even reach the charts of
Switzerland . Few time later there was aEMI conference, where the bosses of the French and the British EMI decided also to release this song in their countries. The song generated major success in European markets, reaching #1 on theUK Singles Chart , and inAustralia , it also reached #1.High School song
"Hey Baby" is also a popular high school and collegiate band selection. Between the third and fourth quarter at each Penn State football game the song is played by the Blue Band, as the 110,000 in attendance sings along. After every win, the Boston University Ice Hockey Pep Band plays this song, and all of the students sing along. It was also played near the end of the 2005 Division I-AA Championship game, both fans of UNI and
Appalachian State University were singing along. In addition (and specifically), this song is played during every home football game of the NCAA Division I-AA University of Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen football team and (generally) at a vast majority of Division 1A football home games as well.Wyoming Area student cheering section and band play the song during every football game.
