Matthew Harris was born in 1956. He studied at
The Juilliard School ,New England Conservatory andHarvard University . He has taught atFordham University and Kingsborough College (CUNY ). He founded Harris Musiciology in 1988.Compositions

National Endowment for the Arts has twice awarded him a Composer Fellowship.
