Ecuador , created25 June 1824 . It encompasses an area of 7.700 km². Its capital is Cuenca.It is located in the south center of Ecuador in the highlands. Its mountains reach the 4500m above sea level in thenational park ofEl Cajas .Azuay is located on the
Panamerican Highway . Cuenca is connected by national flights fromQuito andGuayaquil . It sports the largesthydroelectric plant of the country, situated on the riverPaute .Cantons
