As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 374 students and 32.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.6.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]
For grades 9-12, students attend Roxbury High School in Roxbury, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Roxbury School District.[4]

- Edith M. Decker School. It had an enrollment of 127 students in kindergarten through grade 2 including a pre-school disabilities program. Along with classrooms, the facility contains a fully equipped computer lab, and a well-stocked children’s library.
- Mount Arlington Public School. It is an elementary / middle school with an enrollment of 255 students in grades 3 through 8. Along with classrooms, the facility contains a fully equipped computer lab, a modern art and music suite, and a state-of-the-art media center.
