John R. Crawford (August 4, 1915, Bryn Mawr,
Pennsylvania – February 14, 1976,Manhattan ,New York ) was an American bridge andbackgammon player. In bridge, he won three consecutiveBermuda Bowl world championships (1950, 1951 and 1953).In backgammon, Crawford is known as the inventor of the Crawford rule.
